PERUVIAN ORGANIC COTTON

The souvenir is between index card and postcard size, about a 4" length of each of the colors, and does not include the Tanguis.

I find that boiling these cottons barely changes their color, and the alkaline wash that darkens the colored cottons we have been spinning for the last fifteen or so years only saddens these bright colors.
These cottons are the originals--they are not new, only newly available to us. The staple length is about 1/2", and they spin like a dream. (Well, I spin on a charkha...)

Natural brown cotton darkens with washing and with dips in alkaline solutions.

Palo Verde green card sliver

Natural green cotton darkens with washing and with dips in alkaline solutions.

Combed Upland

Combed cotton has the short fibers removed. The sliver is denser than carded cotton and the fibers are parallel. Spun correctly, combed cotton is long wearing without pilling.
