PERUVIAN ORGANIC COTTON

I find that except for the Avocado, boiling these cottons barely changes their color, and the alkaline wash that darkens the colored cottons we have been spinning for the last fifteen or so years only saddens these bright colors.
These cottons are the originals--they are not new, only newly available to us. The staple length is about 1/2", and they spin like a dream. (Well, I spin on a charkha...)

The Tanguis is the whitest of whites, preferred by dyers. Staple length 1.25".

All are card sliver.

DYER'S DELIGHT EZ DYE COTTON DRAW SLIVER

Upland cotton that's been treated to accept dyes more readily. Use direct, fiber reactive, or even acid dyes without extra chemicals and most natural dyes without mordants. Dyed in this manner side by side with untreated cotton, the EZ Dye will take the dye and the untreated will not. There is a pink fugitive tint that will wash off when you scour it prior to dyeing. The tint is a marker so you can distinguish it from untreated cotton. Do not confuse it with PFD (prepared for dyeing); it must be scoured prior to dyeing.
