Weaver's Choice: Fiber in the Environmental and Social Landscape Duration: 2 hours Synopsis The seminar will include a slide show and resource notebook. Topics move from raw fiber sources and production to end product and by-product usage. Fibers discussed will include cotton--the differences between conventional, sustainable, and organic agricultural practices, recycled cotton, naturally colored cotton, and cotton properties. The terms used in marketing organic cotton and its look-alikes will be explained. Recycling of cotton will be discussed with an update on the state of the art.
